PET – PRELIMINARY Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The homestudies PET course prepares you extremely well for the Cambridge Preliminary Exam. The English lessons take place via video chat on Skype. Your native-speaking and certified English teacher will individually address your needs regarding the B1 Preliminary Certificate in online one-to-one lessons.

COURSE CONTENT CAMBRIDGE PET COURSE

The course content is tailored to your needs and exam preparation. Your teacher will prepare you efficiently and individually for the learning objectives of the PET exam. You will be supported in these five areas: speaking, listening, use of English, writing and reading. 

AFTER THE PET-PRELIMINARY CERTIFICATE COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

• Write complex essays and texts.
• Communicate orally spontaneously and fluently.
• Express opinions and thoughts clearly and present your own points of view.
• Understand radio broadcasts and lectures without effort.

PET CERTIFICATE PREPARATION AND PET CERTIFICATE EXAM

Homestudies offers you targeted preparation for the internationally recognised Preliminary Cambridge Certificate. The PET Certificate examination consists of a written and an oral part. The written part of the PET Certificate examination consists of reading, writing and listening comprehension. The written part takes 156 minutes. The oral exam takes 12 minutes and consists of an interview with one or two other candidates.

Written examination: 156 minutes

• Reading and Writing module (reading comprehension: newspaper articles, e-mail, articles, contributions): 90 minutes
• Listening comprehension module (listening comprehension: radio discussions, conversations)

Oral examination: 12 minutes

• Interview one or two other candidates (answering questions, and other tasks)

The Cambridge PET Certificate exam can only be taken at Cambridge examination centres.
