About me

Languages and cultures have always fascinated me. In school, of course, German was always my favorite subject, and reading newspapers has been my hobby since I could read. Later, I pursued my passion in three different university courses. Ten years ago I have now made my great love to the profession, and teaching makes me still as much fun as on the first day!

After graduating from high school, I studied communication science, history and English studies at the University of Essen (NRW) and completed my studies in 1998 with a Magister Artium. In 2005 I returned to the academic world and studied Ibero-Romanic Philology/Portuguese at the University of Bonn for 4 semesters in preparation for my move to Portugal. Finally, in 2010/2011, I completed a PostGrad Distance Learning DAF (focus on teaching German abroad) at the Goethe Institute. Languages I learn besides somehow always, at the moment, since I live in Barcelona since 2014, mainly Catalan.

Why am I teaching online? – Skype lessons are flexible, efficient, almost always and everywhere practicable. Students and teachers alike benefit from it. Our time is precious, and with Skype lessons you can make the most of it. In the past, I used to sit in the metro just as long for one hour of lessons – that’s luckily over now.
