In addition, I have teaching qualifications for integration courses and can prepare specifically for tests and diplomas. Since I grew up in Switzerland, besides a correct German, the dialect is also close to my heart. Together with my other languages (English C2, French and Italian B2, Swedish B1), this forms an ideal basis for successful communication. Part-time, I am studying linguistics for a master’s degree, which only adds to my fascination with language learning.

About me

Language learning and teaching has been with me all my life. I grew up bilingual, with German and Italian, in Switzerland. During my professional career as a teacher, I enjoyed teaching DaZ (German as a Second Language) learners the most. Since obtaining my certificate in adult education eight years ago, I have been teaching German almost exclusively, at all levels, for all age groups. My forte is tailoring lessons to exact needs and goals, and using empathy and humor to encourage and get results.

I emigrated to Scotland almost three years ago. It gives me great insight into the challenge of using a second language on a daily basis and how important cultural knowledge is to integration as well.
