About me

I’ve taught English for 15 years. During that time I’ve been a private home educator, I’ve taught in a traditional classroom and I’ve been teaching online for about 5 years. I’m a native English speaker from the United States and I live in the state of California on the west coast of the U.S.

I was a business major at Santa Rosa J.C. and a liberal arts major at Chabot College. I hold a TESOL certificate (which stands for Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a business English certificate.

Why am I teaching online? – I learn a lot from my students about their place on the globe and their ways. I really like this. I believe the one-to-one ratio of online teaching is more effective for the student than the thirty-to-one ratio of a classroom setting. If a doctor had to give one cure for thirty patients with different difficulties he would not be as effective as he would be helping one patient at a time. I like helping one student at a time with exactly what they need.
