Course description

Starting Russian from scratch? This course gives you a solid foundation from your very first lesson. Your certified, native-speaking teacher works with you one-on-one via Zoom or Google Meet and makes sure you start speaking Russian right away – not just studying it. Every lesson is built around your pace, your interests and your goals. The course covers levels A1 and A2 according to the CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Course content

Your teacher puts together a tailor-made programme based on your needs. A typical beginner course includes an introduction to the Cyrillic alphabet, building a basic vocabulary, introduction to Russian grammar, asking and answering simple questions, reading and understanding simple texts, and getting to know Russian culture.

After this course you will be able to

• Introduce yourself and answer simple questions about your family, hobbies and job
• Form short, simple sentences and respond to basic questions
• Understand and use numbers, dates and times
• Read and write in the Cyrillic alphabet
• Handle basic everyday situations in Russian
• Understand slow, clearly spoken Russian on familiar topics
