About me

Hello and Grüezi.

I’m Helene and I’m fortunate that my mother is English and my father is German Swiss so I grew up speaking both English and (Swiss) German. My teaching career started in Zurich where I managed and taught at my family’s private English language school.

Love was what brought me to England many years ago and since then I have lived in a traditional thatched cottage on the south coast of England, between Brighton and Bournemouth.

Fortunately, soon after moving here, I was offered a job as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) lecturer at a local Further Education college, and havetaught there ever since. The college encouraged me not only to do the University of Cambridge Diploma in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language to Adults, but also a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

I have always been passionate about supporting the expectations, aspirations and progress of my students, whatever their backgrounds. I very much look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
