I was born in the north of England where I now live with my family. Over the last ten years I have worked as an English teacher in schools and businesses in Germany, Russia and Japan. I have experience teaching students of all ages and ability levels and I have also taught extensively in the IELTS and Cambridge Examination systems. I have a particular knowledge of Business English and Academic English, but I’ll happily talk about almost anything! I have taught a wide variety of people from different backgrounds over the years including senior managers, engineers, doctors, pilots and refugees. I also speak German and Russian, but there’s still a lot of room for improvement in both. My teaching style is relaxed and friendly and focused on developing the core skills of speaking, reading, writing and listening. I also like to help students hone in on and correct any persistent mistakes they might make. My students often say that they enjoy my lessons and they always look forward to them. I love teaching online because it’s easy and convenient for both me and my students to fit in their learning around their busy schedules. In my spare time I love to run (half-marathons and marathons, as well as just for fun) – and I’m also a big fan of history, Formula 1 racing and travelling.
