Doris

I love languages and enjoy traveling; in addition to my working languages, I have also learned Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian, and recently a few words of Hungarian! And now a little about my private life – I live the intercultural challenges every day, as I am married to a true Neapolitan and have two wonderful bilingual sons!

About me

My name is Doris and I come from Austria, more precisely from the beautiful city of Graz. That’s where I completed my studies as an interpreter and translator (languages Italian, English, and German). However, I have been living in Italy, in Naples, for over 20 years, where I work as a DaF (German as a Foreign Language) teacher, mainly for the Goethe Institute, but also for universities. During this long time, I have gathered a lot of experience and have observed that in recent years, online teaching has become increasingly prominent. I have discovered many advantages in this form of teaching and figured out how to make it varied, exciting, and entertaining. I really enjoy getting to know my students, building a basis of trust, and seeing their language skills improve. I am convinced that my work as a conference interpreter, where I get to know new people and fields of expertise with each assignment, has developed my ability to empathize deeply with people and their needs.
